Biography
Dr. Zhangwei Zheng is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Business School, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University. His research examines how consumers make decisions under uncertainty in complex and high-stakes service markets, with a particular focus on aging, insurance, AI-mediated services, and ESG/sustainability. As an early-career scholar, he has developed a focused and rapidly growing research profile, with more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals across consumer research, social science, public health, and risk/insurance studies. His work is distinctive in connecting consumer behavior with risk, service, and societal perspectives, offering insights into how consumers form trust, perceive risk, and respond to incomplete information when decisions carry long-term personal or social consequences.
Before entering academia, Dr. Zheng spent five years in the insurance industry at a Fortune Global 500 company, working across digital marketing, underwriting, product training, and customer engagement. He also holds professional qualifications including ACII, PMP, and PRINCE2 Practitioner. This combination of research productivity, international academic training, and industry-based expertise shapes his practice-informed research identity and supports his broader agenda on consumer decision-making in uncertain, technology-enabled, and socially important service environments.
