Sustainability-Focused Research
The University supports sustainability efforts institutionally by supporting the establishment of collaborative research centres such as the , established in collaboration between the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). JSC exists in the capacity to tackle the sustainability agenda through teaching, research, policy and problem-solving practices.
The was established as a platform to bring leading academics from ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ and Lancaster Universities together to tackle the challenges of rapidly growing urbanisation around the world. The research themes: , , and will look at our environmental needs, promote health and wellbeing, protect us from natural and human-made disasters and make use of the latest digital technologies to serve humanity.
The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Centre for Planetary Health works across faculties and networks and with regional and international partners to shine a light on planetary health challenges and find solutions that can support the necessary transition that humankind must now make, including generating, translating, and communicating evidence-based research.
