At the School of Mathematical Sciences, we are united by our fascination of the beauty of Mathematics and the practical applications of Mathematics in our daily lives. We believe that Mathematics is an important language for inventions, innovation, and ideas creation.

Our programmes pave the way for careers in actuarial science, insurance, data science, and many more! Our programmes BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Studies and BSc (Hons) in Statistical Data Modelling are recognised by international professional bodies and produce students that are well-equipped with both knowledge and skills required to succeed in their chosen profession.

You can always count on our dedicated team of academics and administrative support staff to guide you throughout your degree journey. We not only ensure our students succeed in their studies, we develop them to become employment-ready graduates.

The School comprises three departments — the Department of Applied Statistics, the Department of Actuarial Science and Risk, and the Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics. Together, these departments offer a diverse range of programmes that pave the way for careers in actuarial science, insurance, data science, and many more.

Whether it is risk theory, the latest IFRS standards, or a question about random variables, chances are, we will be more than happy to speak to you about it!
