Biography

Dr Syed has worked almost 3 years in BRAC bank in Bangladesh as manager in HR operation. In addition, he also worked as a HR executive in World Exchange Communication (a mobile operator) in Sydney, Australia. He has a broad range of teaching experiences from extensive tutoring and individual mentoring to teaching undergraduate courses in the area of human resource management studies. His prolonged 12 years full time and 3 years as guest lecturer in teaching, mentoring, supervising and tutoring experiences along with an impressive research background upholds him mostly a desirable candidate to teach both lower-level and upper-level management courses including strategy & innovation, international business and to make substantial contributions to the academic environment of Stamford university, Bangladesh as well as Naresuan University, Thailand. One of the highlights of his teaching career was team-teaching, a training workshop at the year end. Almost the entire course unfolded as student presentations and student-led discussions of assigned homework exercises, and he found it an invigorating challenge to tease out the difference between when he should interfere, give feedback, or gently nudge students in the right direction, and when they would learn more from his silent observation. He embraces every teaching opportunity that he can find, and he has worked enthusiastically and effectively with students at a variety of levels. He believes in keeping all courses and tutoring sessions student-centered, and so that he can focus on creating a dialogue with the students and to help them discover answers for themselves.
