Biography
Professor Siamak Seyfi is an Associate Professor (tenure-track) in Tourism Geography at the University of Oulu, Finland. His research examines the political and spatial dimensions of tourism, focusing on sustainability, crisis and resilience, and tourism’s links to geopolitics. Viewing tourism as a social and spatial phenomenon, he explores and challenges its role within broader social, political, and economic domains, particularly under conditions of uncertainty or disruption. Prof. Siamak has collaborated across disciplines and regions, engaging in global debates on tourism, with his work featured in major international media and leading academic journals such as Al Jazeera, Asia Times, ARTE, and the IEMed Mediterranean Yearbook. He regularly delivers invited lectures and keynotes worldwide on topics related to tourism, sustainability, crisis, and geopolitics.
