Biography

Dr. Erose Sthapit is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing, International Business and Tourism at the Faculty of Business and Law, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He has been listed in the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List for six consecutive years (2020–2025) and is ranked 52nd in the sub-field of Sport, Leisure & Tourism. He is also ranked 29th globally in the ScholarGPS Highly Ranked Scholar in Tourism, placing him in the top 0.05% of scholars worldwide in recognition of exceptional productivity, impact, and quality of scholarly work.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Erose has developed a critical and globally recognised body of work on consumer behaviour in tourism. He has collaborated with high-profile academics across the UK and internationally, earning a prominent standing in the field of tourism, hospitality, and leisure. He serves on the editorial boards of several international peer-reviewed journals and is the Regional Editor for Europe at the International Journal of Tourism Research, as well as Associate Editor for Leisure/Loisir, Leisure Sciences, and the Journal of Islamic Marketing. His global recognition for research excellence is further demonstrated through honorary positions at international universities and memberships in research groups and professional bodies, including the University of Eastern Finland, Finland.
