Principle Activities
CARE has recently undergone strategic restructuring, uniting a dynamic team of medical professionals and scientists from diverse backgrounds. Our mission is to foster interdisciplinary research that enhances health outcomes and supports successful ageing within Malaysian and broader Southeast Asian communities.
In 2019, our team secured a prestigious Long-Term Research Grant Scheme (LRGS) from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, amounting to RM2.4 million. The project, titled "Successful Ageing: Evidence-Based Interventions to Delay Ageing-Related Decline" (LRGS/1/2019/SYUC/02/1/1), aims to develop and assess both hybrid and online interventions that can serve as benchmarks for future clinical, geriatric, and gerontechnology studies. Our research contributes to policy development, such as the Pelan Tindakan Kesihatan Warga Emas, and supports the training of new leaders in both STEM and non-STEM fields to promote healthy ageing.
We have engaged with senior citizens' clubs, including PAWE Subang Jaya, and communities such as Desa Mentari Court and others within the Klang Valley area for our cohort group. Additionally, we plan to recruit another cohort for future research projects, aiming to establish a larger group that will contribute to impactful and successful research benefiting society, especially the elderly.
