Personal Financial Planning

Overview

This course equips students with essential knowledge of key aspects of financial planning affecting individuals. It introduces topics such as budgeting, debt management, personal investment planning (including shares and unit trusts), and insurance planning, by outlining the instruments needed for suitable financial decisions. The course also covers retirement planning and schemes, with a focus on financial planning within the Malaysian context.

On completing the course, students will be able to:

  • Use the relevant financial planning concepts to set individual goals
  • Apply financial planning concepts in addressing personal financial planning needs 
  • Employ personal financial calculations to support practical financial decisions
