Overview
This subject explores the use of accounting techniques in the management and control of a business enterprise. The basic concepts underlying the recording of business transactions, the preparation and presentation of financial information is discussed in this subject. Management issues of planning, decision making and control are explored from the context of accounting techniques of product costing, budgets and marginal costing.
On completing the course, students will be able to:
- Explain the generally accepted accounting principle used in the preparation of financial statements of business organization.
- Prepare relevant financial information for business decision making.
- Apply relevant accounting tools and techniques for planning and decision making.
