Professor Datin Dr Chia Yook Chin MBBS FRCP FAFPM (Hon)
Head, Ageing Health & Well-being Research Centre; Chair, ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University Press Editorial Board
Professor Chia Yook Chin heads the Ageing Health and Well-being Research Centre at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University, bringing extensive experience from teaching undergraduate medical students to training postgraduate doctors in primary care at the University of Malaya. As Director of the Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine at the Academy of Family Physicians, she continues to train doctors in family medicine. She also introduced the Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care for the Elderly at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University. Prof. Chia, who is a recipient of numerous awards, actively researches hypertension and has widely published on the subject. She remains dedicated to mentoring and inspiring young academics.

Professor Angela Lee Siew Hoong
Deputy Dean (Employability and Engagement), Faculty of Engineering and Technology
Professor Angela Lee is a Professor at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University, specialising in data science and AI. She developed the Data Science degree at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University and has been creating data science curricula for over 10 years. She received the National Most Outstanding Educator Award in Malaysia in 2023 and the Distinguished Educator Award in 2021. An active speaker at data science conferences, she also serves on technical programme committees of leading AI conferences. She teaches Social Media Analytics, Visual Analytics, Advanced Analytics, and Business Intelligence, and has published internationally on AI, Predictive Analytics, Healthcare Analytics, and Knowledge Management.

Professor Angela Amphawan
Head, Smart Photonics Research Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering and Technology
Professor Ts Dr Angela Amphawan earned her PhD in optical communications from the University of Oxford, UK. She then received the Fulbright Award to work on optical devices and networks at MIT. Currently, she leads the Photonics Lab at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University. Previously, she served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University Malaysia of Computer Science & Engineering and Director of the Optical Technology Research Laboratory at Universiti Utara Malaysia. She has also lectured at Multimedia University and worked as a Computing Officer at Oxford. She is on the National 5G Task Force and the Editorial Board of APL Photonics, among others.

Associate Professor Dr Sim Tze Ying
Faculty of Engineering and Technology
Dr Sim Tze Ying is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. She holds a Doctor of Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Kassel, Germany, and a Master of Science in Software Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Dr Sim has seven years of experience as a researcher and teaching assistant, and five years as a System Engineer at Motorola Semiconductor Malaysia. Her research focuses on variability modelling and engineering education. She is passionate about teaching and explores technologies to enhance engagement and is dedicated to making education accessible to all.

Associate Professor Dr Tamas Kiss
Centre for English Language Studies
Dr Tamas Kiss is an Associate Professor at the Centre for English Language Studies. He has been involved with language teacher education programmes in Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. He has delivered one-off talks and directed longer, intensive teacher development courses in over 20 countries by invitation of universities, language teacher organisations, cultural institutions, and international publishing houses. His research interests include language pedagogy, language teacher education, creativity, intercultural communication, the link between complex dynamic systems and education, and the role of culture in language teaching materials.

Associate Professor Dr Ooi Pei Boon
Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences
Dr Ooi Pei Boon obtained her PhD in Guidance and Counselling from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is a registered and practising counsellor with the Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia. Under the Counsellor Act 1998 (Act 580), Dr Ooi serves as the core member of the Malaysia Board of Counsellors. Dr Ooi has been the editor of books and proceedings published under ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University Press and has been recently appointed PLOS One Academic Editor since August 2023.

Associate Professor Dr Pauline Leong Pooi Yin
Head, School of Communication and Media Studies
Associate Professor Dr Pauline Pooi Yin Leong received her PhD in Political Communication from Monash University and a Master’s in Mass Communication from Nanyang Technological University, where she was awarded the Pearson Education Gold Medal Award for Best Graduating Student. A qualified lawyer by training, she was previously a journalist at Singapore Straits Times. She is the author of Malaysian Politics in the New Media Age: Implications on the Political Communication Process, a book by Springer. She was a visiting fellow with ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore under the Media, Technology, and Society programme (2021/2022).

Associate Professor Dr Foo Yee Boon
ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Business School
Dr Foo Yee Boon, an Associate Professor of Accounting, is recognised for her expertise in accounting education, research, and academic governance. She has held key leadership roles, including Deputy Head of School (Research) at Monash University Malaysia’s School of Business and Head of the Accounting Department at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Business School. Beyond her institutional leadership, Dr Foo has contributed to educational governance, serving voluntarily on various boards and councils to support academic excellence. Before transitioning into academia, she gained extensive industry experience, bringing practical insights that shape her teaching and research. Her research work has been published in reputable accounting journals, contributing to the field’s ongoing development.

Carol Wong
Head, ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University Press
Carol Wong leads ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University Press with a 17-year track record in pivotal publishing roles at Pearson and Marshall Cavendish. Her expertise spans P&L management, product creation, and marketing in Singapore and Malaysia. Formerly the Director of Cambridge A-Levels at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ College, she is driven by a commitment to impact lives through academic publishing. Holding an Honours degree in Biology from UPM, Malaysia, and a Master's degree from the National Institute of Education, NTU Singapore, she brings a wealth of academic insight to her role. Actively contributing to the Malaysian publishing scene, she serves as an EXCO member for MABOPA.
