Biography
Dr Timothy Yu completed his PhD thesis dissertation on neurogenetics in Monash University Malaysia with a focus on the brain structure habenula, its gene expressions and its role in altered fear learning in obesity. He was well trained in animal behaviour, genomics and multiphoton confocal microscopy and their utilization in the study of neuronal activity. Upon the completion of his doctorate degree, he joined ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University as a research fellow with the research interest in the crosstalk between human gut microbiome genomics and environmental factors in various community settings. His aspiration as an academician is to increase public literacy on science, in the hope to enhance public acceptance to scientific evidence-based policies.
