Kala Raani Chandra Guindan is an experienced nursing academic, educator, and healthcare professional with more than two decades of combined clinical, academic, and leadership experience in nursing education. She is currently a Lecturer at the Faculty of Nursing, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University.

Kala Raani holds a Master of Nursing from Open University Malaysia, a Bachelor of Nursing from Monash University, and a Diploma of Nursing from Universiti Sains Malaysia. She also holds formal training in Teaching Methodology, reflecting her strong foundation in pedagogy, curriculum design and outcome-based education.

Her academic career spans several higher education institutions, where she has served in various leadership roles, including Senior Lecturer, Programme Coordinator, Deputy Head of School and Acting Dean. She has extensive experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, faculty management, and collaboration with regulatory bodies such as the Malaysian Nursing Board and Malaysian Qualifications Agency.

Before transitioning fully into academia, Kala Raani gained solid clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in intensive care and cardiac care units, both locally and internationally. Her clinical background informs her teaching philosophy, which emphasises evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning and the integration of theory with real-world nursing practice.

Her academic and research interests include gerontological nursing, digital health and nursing education innovation.
Her professional vision is centred on empowering future nurses, advancing nursing education, and supporting the transformation of healthcare systems through education, leadership, and digital innovation.
