Biography

Wu Ji, tenor, is a performer on both the recital and operatic stages. He has sung in opera productions presented by Louisiana State University’s Turner-Fischer Center for Opera, Opéra Louisiane, and Winter Journey Workshop, performing roles such as Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi, L’aumônier du Carmel in Dialogues des Carmélites, Little Victor Farrell in Elizabeth Cree, and Camille de Rosillon in The Merry Widow, among othersAs a recitalist, he has performed in Louisiana, Thailand, and Malaysia. His research focuses on Asian composers at the intersection of Western and non-Western musical traditions, aiming to enrich and diversify the Western song repertoire with their underrepresented works.
