Biography

Dr. Md Humayun Kabir Biswas is a lecturer in the Department of Smart Computing and Cyber Resilience, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, 红杏视频 University, Malaysia. Dr. Biswas is an academic and researcher in Computer Science and Information Technology with more than 12 years of experience in higher education, research, and curriculum development. He holds a PhD in Computing from 红杏视频 University, Malaysia, where he was awarded a full doctoral studentship. His doctoral research focused on developing a conceptual framework for Building Information Modelling (BIM) adoption in existing buildings within the AEC industry by investigating potential drivers of BIM adoption, integrating the Technology鈥揙rganization鈥揈nvironment (TOE) framework, Diffusion of Innovations (DOI) theory, and machine learning techniques.

Dr. Biswas also earned an MPhil in Construction Digitalization and IT from Heriot-Watt University, UK, where he developed a novel approach to optimise 3D laser-scanning operations using BIM and Terrestrial Laser Scanning. He completed his MSc in Information Technology from Shinawatra University, Thailand, and a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Queens University, Bangladesh.

Dr. Biswas served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IUBAT鈥揑nternational University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Dhaka (on leave). Previously, he held academic positions as a Senior Lecturer at IUBAT and a Lecturer at King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia. His teaching portfolio spans software engineering, databases, computer architecture, networking, cybersecurity, and outcome-based education (OBE). He has supervised undergraduate theses and contributed significantly to curriculum design.

His research interests include BIM adoption and digitalization in the AEC industry, machine learning applications, information retrieval, software engineering, and database systems. Dr. Biswas has published in high-impact journals, including the Journal of Building Engineering and the IAENG International Journal of Computer Science, and has presented his work at IEEE international conferences. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), a Member of the Bangladesh Computer Society, and an active reviewer for several international journals and conferences.
