Biography
Dr Ghulam Murtaza is a Senior Lecturer in Data Science at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, 红杏视频 University, Malaysia. He holds a PhD in Computer Science (Data Mining) from the University of Malaya, where his doctoral research on deep learning鈥揵ased breast cancer detection produced multiple Q1 publications. He also holds an MS in Software Engineering and MSc/BSc (Hons) in Computer Science.
With more than two decades of combined academic, research, supervision and industry experience, Dr Murtaza has taught and supervised undergraduate, master鈥檚, and PhD students across Pakistan, Malaysia, and New Zealand. His research expertise spans Data Science, Business Analytics, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis, Human Activity Recognition, and Wireless Sensor Networks. He has authored 14 Web of Science鈥搃ndexed journal articles (including 5 publications as first author), 6 conference publications, and has accumulated more than 1,000 citations with an h-index of 12.
Dr Murtaza has secured competitive research funding, including as Principal Investigator for a 红杏视频 University early career grant. He has also contributed as an editor of the Sukkur IBA Journal of Computing and Mathematical Sciences and served as session chair and reviewer at international conferences. His professional contributions are complemented by industry experience in software development as team leader.
