Held on the 13 June 2023, the webinar on "Transforming Healthcare Waste: Sustainable Practices for a Healthy Future," organized in collaboration with Health Care Without Harm Southeast Asia (HCWH-SEA), aimed to address the growing problem of waste management in the healthcare sector. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that a significant number of healthcare facilities lack proper waste management infrastructure, leading to potential health risks for workers and communities. The webinar presented the challenges faced by healthcare sectors in Southeast Asia in achieving sustainable waste management, showcased success stories of hospitals that have achieved waste sustainability goals, and emphasized the healthcare sector's role in promoting sustainable waste treatment. The virtual webinar was open to healthcare professionals, medical students, and the general public.
