Dr Rabita Mohd Firdaus Achutan
- Senior Lecturer
- Research Centre for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Utilisation
Biography
Dr Rabita Mohd Firdaus, a Professional Technologist (MBOT), holds a dual PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and in Chemistry from the University of Lorraine (UL). Her research centers on catalysis and nanoporous materials for environmental applications, with a particular emphasis on air and water pollutants. She has extensive experience in graphene-related projects, including the development of graphene foils, flakes, 3D graphene structures, and large-scale carbon nanotube (CNT) production. She has published in reputable ISI-indexed journals such as the Journal of Cleaner Production and FlatChem, in addition to contributing a book chapter. Her achievements have been recognized internationally through her selection as a MOPGA 2024 Laureate Visiting Fellow at the Institut Jean Lamour (IJL) in France and her participation in the HOPE Meetings with Nobel Laureates organized by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). She remains dedicated to promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible innovations through research, teaching, and community engagement.
