Prof. Dr. Wenye Lin

Prof. Dr. Wenye Lin is currently a professor at the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He obtained his MSc in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics from CAS in 2013 and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia, in 2018. He joined the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC), UOW, as an Associate Research Fellow and has been working extensively on building energy efficiency, renewable energy utilisation in the built environment, and optimisation of buildings heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. From 2021 to 2023, he was granted the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship and carried out his research on salt hydrate phase change material slurries in Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Germany, while serving as an Honorary Fellow in SBRC, UOW at the same time. Due to his scientific contributions in the sector of renewable energy, sustainable buildings, and HVAC, he and his team have won a number of international and national awards, including the Overall 2nd Place in Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018, 鈥淚nnovation Award鈥 granted by the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies in 2020/2021, 鈥淓xcellence in HVAC&R Research Award鈥 granted by the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, air conditioning and heating (AIRAH) in 2019 and 2024 etc.. He has published more than 50 journal papers, with a Google Scholar citation of 1748 and an H-index of 22.
