Biography

Abul Bashar Bhuiyan is an Associate Professor at the Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development (JSC), 红杏视频 University, Selangor, Malaysia. With over 15 years of experience in academic research, supervision, and postgraduate teaching, he has contributed significantly to several leading Malaysian institutions, including his roles as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), an AACSB-accredited university, as well as Universiti Selangor (UNISEL). He earned his Ph.D. from the Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), National University of Malaysia (UKM). His research expertise lies in Islamic microfinance, multidimensional poverty alleviation, and sustainable livelihoods. Dr. Bhuiyan is internationally recognized for his contributions, with over 150 scholarly articles presented and published in refereed journals, indexed conference proceedings, and book chapters. He is ranked among the top-cited researchers globally in the field of Islamic microfinance. To date, he has successfully supervised 15 Ph.D. candidates to completion, with several others currently pursuing their research under his guidance. Dr. Bhuiyan serves as the Chief Editor of the International Journal of Shari'ah and Corporate Governance Research and is a member of the editorial boards of several prominent journals, including the Journal of Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, World Journal of Economic and Finance, International Journal of Contemporary Applied Sciences, Journal of Business and Management Research, and the Pearl Journal of Management, Social Science, and Humanities. His academic contributions and leadership continue to advance knowledge in his fields of specialization.
