AMITA Group Initiates the First PoC Field Test of MEGURU STATION® outside Japan, in Malaysia -Teaming with Malaysia’s ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Group in feasibility study of circular management of municipal waste in the country

This project has its roots in the Seed Corn project under the Sustainable Cities theme, by Prof. Yuka Fujimoto and funded by the Future Cities Research Institute. Building on this foundation, AMITA HOLDINGS, CO., LTD., a leading provider of circular and sustainability solutions, announced that its Malaysia-based regional headquarters, AMITA CIRCULAR DESIGN SDN. BHD. (ACD), signed a memorandum of agreement with ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University SDN. BHD. on June 1, 2024. This agreement, supported by the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Group, entails a seven-month proof-of-concept field test of the MEGURU STATION®, a community resource-collection site developed by AMITA. The test, taking place near ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University, marks the first MEGURU STATION® operation outside Japan and aims to evaluate the feasibility of municipal waste sorting and collection in Malaysia, as well as the impact on local residents’ attitudes toward resource circulation. The AMITA Group plans to expand this resource-circulation scheme in Malaysia and beyond, fostering the development of their Social Systems Design Business internationally.
