Biography
Joseph Pang Kok Bing is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Centre for English Language Studies (CELS), ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University. He holds a Master of Education (TESL) and a Bachelor of Science with Education (TESL) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His award-winning postgraduate research explored the narrative structure of the Mass Effect 3 video game script and its pedagogical potential as a teaching and learning tool.
With over 17 years of teaching experience, Joseph has taught First Language English at NationalHigh Jakarta School in Indonesia and previously served as a Senior Lecturer at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ College Johor Bahru. His teaching portfolio includes a wide range of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) modules at both diploma and degree levels.
As a certified IELTS Speaking instructor, Joseph specialises in curriculum and assessment design in line with MQA standards. He has played a leading role in developing syllabi for Diploma, Degree, IGCSE, and IB MYP programs, ensuring academic rigor and relevance across diverse educational contexts.
In addition to his teaching and curriculum work, Joseph is an active scholar and academic mentor. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at numerous international symposiums on ESP and pedagogy, and regularly supervises interdisciplinary student research. He also contributes to institutional development through professional training workshops, quality assurance efforts, and community engagement initiatives.
