Overview
The tourism and hospitality industry contributes significantly to a nation’s economy and employs a large number of people. It maintains an ongoing commitment to training in both customer service and technical areas. This curriculum will help prepare students for a wide range of service sectors and enable them to become active stakeholders in the hospitality and tourism industry. Students will learn to identify global trends that create opportunities and present challenges in an increasingly competitive international environment.
The subject provides students with a solid foundation in the industry, including its history, challenges, and general operating procedures. This knowledge will equip them for entry-level service management positions across various sectors.
On completing the course, students will be able to:
- Illustrate the characteristics and differences of tourism and hospitality sectors.
- Share the findings of a tourism and hospitality organizational study.
- Explain the current trends within the different sectors.
