Overview
This course introduces the art of storytelling through short fiction, perfect for students curious about reading and writing. It covers a wide range of short stories from different genres and cultures, exploring how writers use plot, character, setting, and style to create meaning. Students will also try creative writing in fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, learning how to build scenes, develop characters, and write with imagination. With fun discussions and hands-on activities, the course encourages creativity and critical thinking in a relaxed, beginner-friendly space—no prior literature background needed.
On completing the course, students will be able to:
- Analyse short stories from various genres and cultures
- Produce original short creative texts
