Overview

The Statistics and Operations Research Consultation and Engagement Unit (SORCE) is an initiative by the School of Mathematical Sciences to address the growing demand for statistical and advanced mathematical analysis in research across various disciplines. Recognizing the increasing need for robust data analysis in academic and applied research—particularly for postgraduate students and school/faculty—SORCE provides expert consultation services, statistical support, and training workshops to enhance research quality and methodological rigor.

SORCE serves as a bridge between theoretical mathematical sciences and practical research applications, ensuring that researchers and students have access to sound statistical methodologies, operational research techniques, and advanced mathematical modelling. Additionally, the unit extends its expertise to external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange beyond the academic community.

SORCE - Vision

Vision

To be a leading hub for statistical and operational research expertise, empowering researchers, students, and external partners with advanced analytical tools and methodologies to drive data-informed decision-making and innovation.
